IT ALL STARTED WITH THE BULLION BANK.

After 23 years in the Wealth Management game, Dan Hasler was ready for a change.

A firm believer in gold and silver as security, Dan looked into starting a bullion company in Atlantic Canada.

In 2013 after some solid research and a modest initial investment The Bullion Bank opened it’s doors.

As the business took off, many walk-in customers began inquiring about numismatics and collectibles.

To satisfy his patrons, Dan went looking for an expert in the field.

That’s when he found Poul Matheisen, an aficionado numismatic and past President of the Halifax Coin Club.

With Poul’s help they were able to identify rare pieces Dan had bought from patrons of The Bullion Bank.

Over a very short time, The Bullion Bank inventory grew to include certified, and graded coins & bills from across the country and around the world.

Estate sales brought in rare sets and collections, and before long the guys realized they needed to get the word out.

In 2017 The Coin Vault brand was born. As a small coin dealer shop, it operated primarily by word of mouth. Today The Coin Vault and its specialty inventory is available to collectors and sellers across Canada.

Dan and Poul consult on numismatics on a daily basis and customers enjoy their wealth of knowledge and honest & easy way of doing business.
